Celebrating Our Volunteers: Thank You for Making Our Community Stronger

During National Volunteer Week 2026, Waitaki Multicultural took the opportunity to celebrate and thank the incredible volunteers who help make our organisation such a welcoming, connected, and supportive community.

Throughout the week, we were proud to recognise many of the individuals who contribute their time and energy across our programmes and activities. Whether they are helping at events, supporting families, welcoming newcomers, assisting with activities, or working behind the scenes, each volunteer plays an important role in strengthening our community. Their contributions help create environments that are safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

One example of the impact our volunteers have can be seen through programmes such as Family Connect, where volunteers help support parents and caregivers by assisting with children and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The kindness, patience, and care shown by volunteers across all of our programmes help ensure that participants feel supported and valued.

Volunteering is about much more than giving time, it is about building connections, fostering understanding, and helping create a community where everyone feels they belong. Our volunteers embody these values every day, and their dedication continues to make a positive difference throughout the Waitaki district.

To all of our volunteers, past and present: thank you. Thank you for your commitment, your compassion, and your willingness to help others. Your contributions strengthen our organisation and enrich the lives of the people we serve.

We are deeply grateful to have such a wonderful group of volunteers as part of the Waitaki Multicultural whānau. Your support helps us continue our mission of bringing people together, celebrating diversity, and building a stronger, more connected community for all.

From all of us at Waitaki Multicultural, thank you for everything you do. 💙
