Last night at Migrants Meet and Share we had a wonderful celebration of Matariki. It was very special to have so many of our families there enjoying the evening’s events with our guests Ana Tangaroa and her son Joseph giving us an amazing presentation all about Matariki. It was a magnificent feast with Hangi Pies and lots of taste sensations from all over the world, including a Matariki cake! Activities including a Matariki waiata, plant and food giveaways, Whakataukī (or proverbs) in many languages, and a tree for remembrance of those who have passed. A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a special night for all.
